Great to work on the medial portion of the muscle and around the bony prominences.
Best to use at the lateral side of the muscle into the shoulder with either dynamic or static use.
- The triceps has three heads; only the long head crosses the shoulder joint.
- Together, they create elbow extension.
- The long head helps to stabilize the shoulder joint and creates some motion, but is not a prime mover.
Avoid pressing into the armpit on the humerus when working the proximal part of the triceps.
