Used for broad strokes of the muscle with light to moderate pressure, sometimes deep pressure if tolerated.
Used for focused work, can be used around distal tendons.
Excellent to use this edge for dynamic or static compression throughout the entire muscle, avoiding compression at the distal part of the muscle near the popliteal fossa.
- Four muscles in the posterior thigh.
- Three out of four cross both the hip and knee joint.
- Hamstrings need to be strong and flexible.
Avoid compressing in the posterior knee and the sciatic nerve in the gluteal region.
