Our mission

Our mission is to help movement-based clinicians treat their patients as effectively as possible from a position of strength, ensuring they never have to sacrifice their own well-being. We’re also committed to supporting clinicians in their journey of constant self-improvement, helping them advance their skills and knowledge to better serve their patients.

How Ttool came to be

  1. Manual therapy is hard on the people who do it.

Many manual therapists deal with thumb, wrist and forearm problems from helping their patients get out of pain. There are many great soft tissue techniques, but what was missing was a tool designed to help you perform them ergonomically.

Helping someone else shouldn’t create a problem for yourself.

  2. Soft tissue tools had barely changed in 30 years.

Gua sha and scraping tools have been used for thousands of years. About 30 years ago, metal tools in different shapes were introduced for clinical use. Since then, little has evolved: there are flat metal tools in many shapes and sizes, and they can only be used for scraping.

  3. Therapists need more than one technique.

Most manual therapists use several soft tissue techniques to help patients get out of pain and move better. Scraping, pin and stretch and ischemic compression usually mean switching between tools, or overusing your hands and thumbs to create enough force.

Efficient treatment time and a body that lasts are at the heart of Ttool’s design.

  4. It took three years and more than a dozen prototypes.

We prototyped and tested more than a dozen variations, iterating each time to find the most comfortable and useful design: an ergonomic, versatile tool that lets you perform different techniques without fatiguing or hurting your hands.

  5. Ttool launched in 2019.

Today more than 2,000 manual therapists in more than 30 countries use Ttool. Every Ttool is cast and machined in the USA.
